Alice in Wonderland
Today’s movie selection is a two-for-one, because I just couldn’t decide which one to choose.
Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland is artistically unique and intriguing. Besides Alice, my favorite character to see adapted from the book into visual form is the Cheshire Cat. This version of Cheshire is one of my favorites. Despite the over-abundance of CGI, and the lags in the writing, this version of Alice in Wonderland is entertaining and well acted.
Most underrated characters: Knave of hearts; Hamish, the red headed weirdo who proposes to Alice in the beginning of the film.
Disney’s Alice in Wonderland is a classic. It is overflowing with colorful musical numbers, singing flowers, talking rabbits – if that’s your kind of thing. This film has the most musical numbers out of the classic Disney animated movies. The innocence of Alice mixed with the coyness of the characters of Wonderland is always a pleasant blend.
Most underrated characters: those animals that the queen uses to play lawn games.
