Remember that one time that I completely forgot to write anything at all on the last day of NaNoWriMo because irony is ironic? I do. I remember that like it was yesterday. Oh, wait, it was yesterday. I forgot to post on here yesterday. My bad.
This week is sort of a Drama based week, but I might throw in some less-dramatic-more-indie-miscellaneous movies if I feel so inclined. You’ll have to wait and see what happens. Crazy excitement around here, folks. Yesterday’s movie is The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
Perks is a teen film, based on a young adult novel of the same name. It focuses on Charlie, played by Logan Lerman, and the beginnings of his high school life. He meets a group of friends and throughout the film works out his various issues and, to be frank, made me cry quite a bit. This movie was heartbreaking and emotional for me, but not necessarily for everyone. This movie is well done and well acted and well written and I loved it. Some of it was just beautiful to watch, and the way they piece it together genuinely moved me. Logan Lerman does an amazing job of representing Charlie, and at the end of the film, despite everything you learn about and go through with the characters, you feel better and freer.
